After an AMAZING weekend at Inferno last weekend, Im even more excited and pumped for this seasons sessions! I feel extremely inspired by both the participants and the speakers - fantastic time!!
Date: Tuesday, February 26 2013 Location: Manitoulin Island, ON Time: 5:53PM .....it's still light outside and I am thrilled!! It's the small things in life ;-) xoxo Eric Church in Sudbury - one of the best live shows I've been to yet! If you know me, you know I love love LOVE live music, and will go to extreme lengths to see specific artists; although he isn't one of my "favorite" artists, I really like his stuff, especially his music ;-) I found out in the fall that EC would be touring and I was STOKED!! Brent introduced me to his music so I wanted to surprise him with tickets. They sold out before I had a chance :-( I moved on, but I was a wee bummed; I'd been waiting three years for this opportunity, hadn't been to a show since the summer and knew it wouldn't be until this summer that I'd get to another *gasp* - Oh, and like I said, I wanted to surprise Brent... Once his shows were sold out, even though I wanted to go "so bad!!", I didn't end up putting in any more effort in getting tickets. During the weeks leading up to the show, anytime a friend who was going spoke of the upcoming show, my heart sank with regret for not looking on Kijiji for tickets. I don't understand the ridiculous mind set I was in regarding this event, but in a nutshell - I really wanted to go, I had a deep feeling I would be going, yet I wasn't putting in ANY effort in getting tickets - most of us know that we don't get what we want by doing nothing!! Well sometimes we do! An unexpected call from a friend on the morning of the show landed Brent and I stage side a few hours later! And it was awesome! Thank-You to everyone involved in getting us out for the night - wish you all could have joined us xo This post is for you Mum!! Back in November, Mum and I took her new puppy, miss Darby, for her first trip to the beach - and she went CRAZY! (trying) to photograph her was more hectic than two year old triplets on a sugar high! It's been many many many months since I last posted, shame! I'll soon have myself organized, and will be posting a few weddings from 2012! Everything Happens for a Reason: the "wee" surprise revealed! A few weeks ago I was planning a vacation to Manitoulin Island. Day after day my trip continued to be postponed. I was becoming slightly bummed, as my nearly three weeks holiday slowly reduced to only one :-( Then, I received an email from Kate, one of last years brides. She wrote to say, her and Matt just had a baby and were hoping for pictures of him while he was still a wee one. I instantly said, "YES!!"; I was so excited to hear the fantastic news, to be lucky enough to meet him, and to see them again! A few days later I arrived at their new home to photograph their new arrival, Mr. baby Myles. It's days like that, that remind me with extra emphasis, how lucky I am to be able to spend time with such wonderful people, and to be a part of capturing their special moments and milestones. Thank-You Kate and Matt for inviting me into your home to photograph the BEYOND ADORABLE Mr.Myles, (who I could NOT stop staring at and cooing over), and a big thank-you to Myles for being so patient with us; I truly had a fantastic afternoon! to see more of the OH-SO-HANDSOME! Mr.Myles, visit: https://www.facebook.com/drobinsonphotography A few weeks ago, I took a mini road trip to Kemptville to photograph my (recently engaged ;-)) friend Kim, her fiance, and her family. Her sister and 5 year old nephew, Ryland, were visiting from BC - a great opportunity for family summer portraits! All throughout the shoot, Ryland and I were hitting it off pretty well; talking plenty and just having fun! At one point, I assigned him my assistant; I asked him to make everyone smile, so that I could take more photos. He stood beside me, and rocked the role! - making all of us laugh so hard I had to stop shooting for a few minutes. He was fantastic! He was so great at it, that he was promoted to Photographer for the last few shots - and naturally, rocked it! He had just the right amount of authority to get the shot he wanted, and carried full confidence, as though he had planned this all along :-) After he had everyone into position, I handed him the camera; thrilled, he quickly fired off dozens of shots, which I can't help but share :-) It had been planned before I arrived, that I would be joining the Weavers for a delicious BBQ dinner after the session. My understanding, is that for desert, Ryland had earlier suggested a cake with everyone's name on it, to celebrate everyone's birthday together. To my delight, this also included me! Fun Family Fact: Mrs. Weavers mother, (Kim & Sylvia's nanna), had: 10 children + 3 step children + 20 grand-children + 34 great grandchildren + 3 great great grandchildren + That's 67 people she had a part of bringing into our world <3 |
